We have a puppy Daschund and have been looking at Dog Kennels for him for while we are on holiday, I visited Tollgate yesterday, a lovely lady showed me around and answered all my questions, the kennels is everything the website shows and says, I feel very comfortable and have booked our puppy in to stay. If you are looking for a Kennels I recommend that you go and have a look.

We have used Tollgate kennels now for 2 years. The service is great the information provided about the kennels is spot on and the staff really do care about cats and dogs. We will carry on using Tollgate for our Ruby as she is part of the family and deserves the best and we haven't found any better for the price against service. Would recommend it to any of my friends if they were looking for kennels for long and short-term stays.

Tazzi loves her visits to Tollgate. She is always well looked after in great kennels and Karen and the staff are fantastic with her. Taz has been staying there since a pup (she's 6 now) and it's really reassuring that when we have to go away she is well cared for in safe, clean kennels by people who really take a keen interest to make sure her stay is a pleasant one.

Daisy our cocker spaniel who is 11 years old has been going to Tollgate Kennels for the past 9 years.  I have always admired Karen and Ryan's professionalism, love of dogs and the way they have built up such a successful business pretty much from scratch.  The staff are kind and loving, the kennels are clean and warm and I know Daisy is very happy whenever she goes to "sleepover" at Tollgate.  The proof is that she pulls my arm off to get into the kennels (I cannot say that of the vets!)  Thank you for providing such a great service.

We booked our Golden Retriever  Cassie into Tollgate for the first time in 2010 having had some bad experiences with kennels previously.  I can honestly say all the staff was brilliant, and completely put our minds at rest.  Cassie came home happy and completely relaxed after her stay and seemed to actually enjoy her time very much.  We put her in again in summer 2011 and found Tollgate even more impressive than last time, Cassie had had a bath, her bedding was all washed and dried, and she looked so well and healthy, the staff had even trimmed her nails!  I have found the whole experience a positive one, and well worth the 40 mins drive to get us there. We have booked Cassie in for Christmas 2011, and yet again the staff have been helpful and enthusiastic about having Cassie back, I heartily recommend Tollgate to anyone as an excellent kennel with brilliant staff, and most of all our beloved Cassie is very happy.

We've just booked Harley our cocker spaniel in for the night in November and just wanted to say how lovely it is knowing that he will be well looked after. Stacey is great, she never makes us feel like a nuisance and always listens to our concerns.  We know Harley is fine and that it's us that worry, Stacey seems to understand that. This will be his 3rd time and although we miss him we know he'll be in a clean, comfy, and safe environment.

We took both our Staffies to tollage for the first time in Sept. we had a look round before took them tho. the kennels were nice .no wee smell and the dogs that were in there looked happy to b there :)so we said yep this is the right one... the people who work there seemed very nice, storm n Georgie looked happy to be led away with them, after 6 days when we picked them up they came out wagging there tails all happy. they even looked like they had bathed them for us cuz they looked and smelt nice :0)so if u want a place that is safe clean and very presentable this is the place for u .... we will def b taking out doggies back there ....a big thank u guys for all that u do c u next year STORM  n GEORGIE :)

What can I say, but how fantastic Karen and her staff are at the kennels, my Sadie pops always has gone to Karens kennels since i rescued her back in April 2008. On this occasion when i dropped Sadie pops of she was not herself but we just put it down to the fact she was coming out of her season, but straight away Karen had her concerns. We were contacted by Karen on the 20th August as Sadie was not herself and was off her food, it was decided that Sadie would be taken to the vets for a check up as she was losing a discharge. OMG if it was not for all the care and attention that Karen and her staff had given Sadie we would have lost her as she had  been diagnosed with Piamitra (prob spelt wrong) a mass infection of the uterus and Sadie had to have emergency surgery immediately. Karen took charge from the offset and I knew Sadie was in the best hands; Karen kept me fully informed and completely made me feel ok about what was going on. Karen transported Sadie to the vets and back again several times whilst we were away and ensured she was comfortable when returning back to the kennels after her operation and administered her antibiotics whilst in her care. Words cannot express how thankful I am to Karen and the staff at the kennels, Sadie is part of our family and we would have lost her due this illness if she was at home. Karen has sooooooooooo much experience with dogs and I would never hesitate leaving Sadie with her again as it is like a home from home for Sadie when she goes on her little holiday there and I know she is just as much loved and cared for there as she is at home.

I fully recommend TOLLGATE KENNELS I can honestly say you would never have to worry about how your pets are cared for there as they are absolutely fantastic.

I first took my springer spaniel/labrador, Benson, to Tollgate when he was about 9 months old. I was a little apprehensive as it was the first time I had used a kennels, but I needn't have been, as Karen and her staff were and still are very welcoming, professional and caring. The kennels are immaculate and Benson feels very at home with his own bed and toys. He comes home a very happy and healthy dog! I always recommend Tollgate to other owners.

I always feel really guilty when I have to leave the dogs at this time of year but I know they are in safe hands with Karen & Ryan so that really helps! Tollgate kennels are absolutely fantastic: we have a rescue dog, Pedro, who is really nervous around strangers and absolutely hates going to the kennels. We randomly saw that Tollgate kennels existed when driving past one day a while back, and decided to take Pedro there as we weren't overly happy with the kennels we'd been using - Pedro always came out shivering and shaking. Anyway, they were absolutely brilliant with him! I think because of their own experience with dogs etc, they really knew how to treat him and calm him down. He has a curly tail, which is usually between his legs when he's unhappy, but when we picked him up the first time, he came trotting out with his tail held high and wagging furiously! We've not looked back since (not only that, but they'd also groomed him for us and he was sleek and shiny - at no extra cost!) We promptly went and bought a 'furminator' according to their recommendation, which is also really effective. Since then, we've been back many times and even felt comfortable leaving him there for longer. They are a very professional staff, I completely believe that the dogs do get walked and treated well, and he came to us completely washed and bathed again last time! Seriously, I can't recommend or thank them enough for treating my gorgeous dog was if he was their own! Thanks a lot, and we'll see you again soon!

We have been leaving our 5 1/2 year old lab at Tollgate several times a year since he was a puppy. The staff are always friendly and the kennels are clean and well organised.  Toby is always greated by a friendly member of the team and always goes in happy and bouncing with tail wagging! When we collect him he is always equally as happy,! We would not be able to enjoy our holidays if we didn't know he was being so well looked after. A big thank you to Karen and the team-We always recommend you to our doggy friends!

Both our dogs have had holidays at tollgate and have always been happy to go and happy when we pick them up. Unfortunately Fudge passed away  at home in February, but Fletcher has had holidays there since. In September Fletcher went to stay at Tollgate for his holidays but was not well when we took him in. We spoke to Karen and she placed him in one of the front kennels to keep an eye on him.  Fletcher took a turn for the worst, but Karen looked after him, kept him close to her, cared and even cleaned him up as he struggled to get out of his bed.

We were still on holiday and so Karen carried out our wishes and contacted our son. We had to have Fletcher put to sleep. I have been to see Karen and all her staff to thank them for their love and care towards both Fudge and Fletcher They were all visibly upset.

We have and still do recommend Tollgate as Karen and all her staff love animals and its not just a job to them. So Thank You Karen and Team. xxx

Having just read the guestbook for the first time I must agree with all the comments left, I have been boarding my dogs at ToIlgate good few years now,and on a few occasions that we have had to call Karen at short notice she has always been able to fit Benji & dori in, and I would like to add that if anyone is looking for superbly run ,clean and happy kennels look no further than TOLLGATE.

I agree with all the comments from all other existing customers. My bulldog Sidney is well looked after and always looks fit and well when we collect him. We have used the kennels on numerous occasions and would highly recommend them to anybody. Extremely clean and all other dogs boarding there the same time as Sidney seemed very content. Going on holiday is always a great joy the only negative is leaving Sadi our  Staffordshire behind.  We have used various kennels claiming to be luxury only to find when we have picked her up she has lost weight and/ or smells unpleasant. Thankfully we found Tollgate kennels, Sadi has had her holidays with Karen and her team for many years now and we are always delighted to find Sadi has been cared for as we would, as a family member. Ben our black , 14-month-old labrador , stayed for 15 days at Tollgate Kennels. This was his first-ever time in kennels. He has come home the same dog as he went, happy, fit and healthy. He has settled at home so quick, like he has never been away. He obviously had a good holiday like we did!!!!.and i definitely recommend Tollgate kennels.Tollgate kennels are very clean and look like a dogs holiday home!!! What also attracted me to these kennels is the daily walk Ben received around the field at the back of the kennels. Better than any of the other kennels i looked around.

Plus the staff i met were very kind and reassuring. Will definitely use again

Just a quick note to say a Huge Thankyou to Karen and the staff for looking after our "Furry Children" while we were away.  Unfortunately, my husband and I had a death in the family and had to leave at a moment's notice to fly home to South Africa.  The staff at Tollgate Kennels couldn't have been more understanding and accomodating at this difficult time and I truly felt that our dogs were in the best care.  When we picked them up, they seemed happy and content like they had never left home and cleaner than they have ever been before.   I would definitely recommend using them again as well as to other people.

"Understanding Professional Owners How many times have you found your dogs are smelly or wet or look unkept and unhappy that you have left them upon collection. WELL THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STOPS. I have found Tolgate Kennels owner Karen and her work team very friendly, can-do-approach, no problem attitude, very caring for the inmates and compound secure and safe. The kennels are scrupulously clean and hygenic. The in-mate sleeping area is off the floor and heating is available if its a chilly night. No pongie dogs or dirty dog beds when ready to be picked up. Dogs brushed, kept clean, well exercised and all equipment brought in accounted for upon collection. Lovely greeting upon arrival in/out. Dogs always look as good as they went in. No mud/dirt or smell. Karen and her oh yes Hubby certainly work hard with their team and are a very professional knowledgeable couples.
